Thursday - April 12th: 9 p.m. DepartureLoading is starting at 8:30. We are leaving from St. Williams Church in Champion on SR 45. From 11 Take 82 W to 45 N. It is approx 5 miles north on the left. If you miss it you will come to SR 305 where there is a Sparkle and Chevrolet dealership. Here is the info we received regarding departure: IF YOU ARE LEAVING YOUR CAR AT THE CHURCH WHEN YOU PULL IN PARK IN THE FAR CORNER TO YOUR RIGHT UP FRONT IN A ROW. IF YOU ARE BEING DROPPED OFF PARK 1 OR 2 ISLES AWAY. THIS IS SO THE BUS DOESN'T HAVE TROUBLE PARKING. ALSO IF YOU ARE BEING PICKED UP TELL YOUR DRIVER TO PARK IN THE SAME PLACE. THEY ARE NOT TO PULL CLOSE TO THE BUS. THERE ARE TOO MANY KIDS LATE AT NIGHT AND NO ONE NEEDS TO BE HURT. HERE IS A FEW THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: THERE ARE 2 BUSES AND NO EMPTY SEATS. IF YOU HAVE AN ODD AMOUNT OF PEOPLE SOMEONE WILL HAVE TO SIT WITH SOMEONE ELSE AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS. PLEASE TELL YOUR GROUP IF IT IS RAINING WHEN WE LOAD THE BUS TO PLEASE GET ON THE BUS FIND A SEAT AND SIT DOWN. ONCE EVERYONE IS ON WE CAN STAND TO PUT ITEMS OVERHEAD. NO ONE WANTS TO RIDE 8 HOURS WET. ON THE BUS, BRING A PILLOW, BLANKET AND A SMALL CARRY-ON WITH A CHANGE OF CLOTHES AND TOILETRIES. WE STOP IN THE MORNING TO FRESHEN UP. THIS CARRY ON GOES ABOVE YOUR HEAD OR ON THE FLOOR UNDER YOUR FEET. KIDS USUALLY LAY ON THE FLOOR AND SLEEP. LUGGAGE UNDER THE BUS SHOULD BE ITEMS FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET ANYTHING UNDER THE BUS UNTIL 9:30 PM FRIDAY NIGHT. WE WILL BE PLAYING 2 MOVIES ON THE WAY TO NYC. IF THE NOISE BOTHERS YOU BRING EAR PLUGS. ALSO, PLEASE ADVISE YOUR GROUP NOT TO BE YELLING- TURN IT DOWN. IT IS JUST LIKE YOUR TVS AT HOME THEY GO UP AND DOWN. PATIENCE AND KINDNESS GO ALONG WAY ON A BUS TRIP. I TELL MY CRABBY PARENTS TO TAKE A SLEEPING PILL. KENNY CHESNEY IS IN CONCERT AT THE TODAY SHOW AND I PERSONALLY WOULD LIKE TO BE THERE AROUND 7. HE PERFORMS AT 8:40 APPROXIMATELY. ALSO WE ARE NOT SURE ABOUT THE TRAFFIC. IF YOU WATCH THE TODAY SHOW OUR BUSES DROP US OFF RIGHT THERE BUT WE MAY HAVE TO DROP OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Other things you may want to bring: Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Day pack to carry poncho or umbrella, Water bottle, snacks, cell phone (and charger), Hand sanitizer, Camera (extra batteries) You may want to limit jewelry and remember to wear comfortable shoes (not new).
FridayWe stop at a truck stop and freshen up and eat breakfast. Everyone will receive maps. We will be dropped off at or near NBC Plaza. Kenny Chesney is in concert. From there we have a NBC Tour and United Nations tour. Free Time is 2-9 p.m. This is the time we plan on going to Empire State Building and the Art Museum. The Metropolitan Museum of Art may be free on Friday evening. 9 p.m. - Depart for hotel. We are staying at a Hampton Inn in New Jersey - Meadowlands This may the right hotel - Stacie let me know if it is not right. Hampton Inn Carlstadt-At The Meadowlands
